OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 7, 2014) — Calling for new leadership for education in Oklahoma, a group of 20 Republican state House and Senate lawmakers today endorsed Joy Hofmeister for state school superintendent. The group includes members of GOP leadership and key committee chairmen.

Barresi’s New Year's Resolution: More Hypocrisy, More of the Same

 

State Superintendent Janet Barresi hired Oklahoma Education Association's (OEA) associate executive director and chief lobbyist to manage Oklahoma's State Department of Education. For the past two years, Joel Robison, a lifelong operative for a variety of unions, has served as Barresi's chief-of-staff. But, now that she's running a campaign with the start of the New Year, Barresi's attacking the very organization that she earlier embraced.

Hofmeister Outpaces Candidates for State School Superintendent

 

OKLAHOMA CITY (August 1, 2013) - Joy Hofmeister, an unannounced Republican candidate for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, today announced her campaign raised more than $165,000 from more than 400 individual contributors in 60 days.
